CIMMfest( Chicago International Movie and Music Festival), returns for a fourth year with over 50 music-focused films from 20 countries. Screenings and live performances, take place at locations throughout the Logan Square and Wicker Park area.

Genres include feature films, shorts, concert films, documentaries, animation and music videos. Live performances feature Wonder Mike and Master Gee, Underground Multiplex and Melody Nife, Adult, Sister Spit, Bobby Bare Jr. and JayVe Montgomery. Numerous filmmakers and actors participate in panel discussions, including Horatio Sanz (SNL) and Joe Lo Truglio.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Chicago Engagement

The diverse program features innovative pieces added to the Ailey repertoire including hip-hop choreographer Rennie Harris’ “Home,” set to gospel house music and inspired by people living with or affected by HIV; Artistic Director Robert Battle’s bravura solo work “Takademe;” “Arden Court,” the first Paul Taylor work ever danced by the company; Ohad Naharin’s inventive and highly improvised “Minus 16;” as well as classics from Alvin Ailey’s body of work.
