The Morgan resident Dimitri Poulos has big plans for our strip on Sheridan, as evidenced by his vision for Around the World Gourmet Sandwiches. Set to open early September, Around the World is yet another fine example of how Morgan residents are making a difference in their neighborhood.
Similar to Morgan resident Will Song’s bopNgrill, Around the World will offer a wide array of freshly made gourmet sandwiches, salads, pastries and snacks, all to be under $10. As their slogan states: “not fast food, just great food fast.”
“We’re aiming to be on the cutting edge of the new food industry, and setting up our home at The Morgan just seemed like the right fit,” says Around the World visionary Dimitri Poulos.
“I’ve worked in the hospitality industry most of my life, in the top markets like New York, Las Vegas, and of course Chicago. I learned in the fine dining world that there’s plenty of price inflation. At Around the World, we aim to provide the upscale food options at reasonable prices.”
Among those options include handcrafted sandwiches, daily baked bagels, fresh yogurt parfaits and a full-service deli counter. With those options, Poulos encases his restaurant in style, including flat-screen menu boards, comfortable seating and a bathroom that compares to our fantastic amenities upstairs.
Set to open in early September, Around the World will make a significant mark on the food culture in Rogers Park. We’re proud to have such an accomplished and visionary culinary artist and business owner in our building. Stop by and say hi sometime, and enjoy the goods when they open soon! Stay tuned for more information on this to-be Rogers Park institution.
