Each year, the CTA Holiday train makes an appearance throughout the city during the month of December. The CTA first began the tradition in 1992, when employees put a sign on the front of a train that was delivering food to various charities around the city. The sign simply said, “Seasons Greetings from the CTA.”
On the twentieth anniversary of the holiday train, CTA employees have gone all out. They have been working on the project for more than two months. The eight-car train is decorated completely, inside and out. The outside of the six-car train is adorned with holiday seasonal images. Thousands of twinkling lights outline the shape of the train and windows, with even more lights running across the tops of the cars. Interiors of the cars are decked out with thousands of multi-colored lights, red bows, garland, and red and green overhead lighting. The hand poles are wrapped to look like candy canes
CTA employees will also be delivering holiday baskets across Chicago to a number of different organizations. The baskets are each complete with an entire meal.
The first scheduled run is on Wednesday, December 12th. You can also catch the Holiday Train on the red line on Friday the 14th, Saturday the 15th, Tuesday the 18th, and Saturday the 22nd. During the week, the train gets going around 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on the weekends from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Look for the full schedule here: http://www.transitchicago.com/holidaytrain/#schedule.

Who said cupcakes are only for dessert? With The Meatloaf Bakery’s Meatloaf-A-Go-Go ® food truck, you can enjoy savory treats in the palm of your hand.
Many of you are likely familiar with Meatloaf-A-Go-Go, as they are frequent visitors of The Morgan. They’ll be back tonight, between 5:30 and 7:30, so be sure to head out and get your hands on one of their signature “meatloaf cupcakes.” As strange as the concept may sound, we promise that their food will leave you satisfied and unwilling to share.
The Meatloaf-A-Go-Go truck is the delivery and catering arm of The Meatloaf Bakery, located on Clark, between Fullerton and Wrightwood in Lincoln Park. For at least the last three years, The Meatloaf Bakery has been serving baked goods-inspired meals to much applause. In an effort to bring their new take on old favorites to a larger audience, they started Meatloaf-A-Go-Go, and haven’t looked back.

We’re back this week with another feature on a specific Morgan resident who is making waves in the community. Last week, we talked with Will Song, owner of bopNgrill, Rogers Park’s hottest burger joint, which you can catch on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives next Friday. This week, we had a chance to talk to Alexandra Vecchio, a senior to-be at Loyloa University, and the school’s leader in sustainable and green initiatives.
Alexandra just joined The Morgan family this summer, but her commitment to helping make Chicago green is one we can definitely get behind. When faced with a rapidly approaching lease-end earlier this year, Alexandra turned to the leasing staff at The Morgan to help her find a well-suited room for her and her roommates. Of course, we were happy to help the trio find the right apartment-home.

Residents of The Morgan are as diverse as they are successful. With our reputation as being a lead choice in luxury living in Roger’s Park, our residents take pride in their community, neighborhood and professions. We know each of you have your own unique story of success, and we want to give you a platform to share, as a way of giving back. This “Residents Around Town” series will be ongoing, and provide you with a bit more information on your neighbors. Today we make our debut column with a resident we are proud to promote: Will Song, owner and head chef of Rogers Park’s bopNgrill.
bopNgrill first opened in Evanston in 2009 after Will realized he didn’t want to follow his career path into the fine dining. As a professionally educated and trained chef, Will wanted to offer food he likes: burgers, fries, rice, eggs and kimchi, among other ingredients. Much to his chagrin, the counter-service restaurant was a hit. Last August, Will decided to open his second bopNgrill location right here in Rogers Park (6604 N Sheridan). The dedicated owner devoted nearly every waking hour to building a fanbase in the neighborhood.
